Remote Learning for the Special Resource Base (Rainbow Fish)

There may be a time during this school year where your child has to self-isolate with their family or because of a partial or full school closure. It is essential that your child does not miss out on learning during this time.

Our Special Resource Base caters for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. The Rainbow Fish staff will direct you to the most appropriate home learning support materials and resources, based on your child’s year group and their individual learning requirements. This will include those listed in the main home learning section for our school. There will be a mix of online and offline activities provided to support learning in the home environment.

In the case of self-isolation

Your child has been provided with an exercise book and stationery (if it was requested). Inside you will find the expectations for home learning for your child’s year group. This will also include relevant passwords for websites your child can access. If your child is new to the Special Resource Base, a home learning pack will be provided as part of their welcome pack materials.

In the case of bubble isolation (partial or full school closure)

Tapestry is now in use across the whole school and will be used every day during a bubble closure. Tasks and activities will be posted daily and there is an expectation that all children complete these. We would like you to share your child’s work on Tapestry so children can receive feedback from their teacher. We will include links to websites to support learning, including some of those used in school.

We are mindful that as your child attends two school provisions, you may wish to access support or learning from both classes and select elements from them. If you would like to do this, please let us know so that we can support you in covering all aspects of your child’s remote learning.
